Kevin Newton was a marine engineer and confined space specialist for over 20 years. He then went on to teach and develop numerous Occupational Health & Safety programs in the Northwest region. Kevin has instructed over 15,000 students and is now a Safety Consultant and Co-founder of Kaien Safety Group.
Trevor Murdock started as a medic 24 years ago, and has worked on residential, commercial, industrial and oil and gas construction projects. He became a full time instructor in the 90’s teaching OFA and OH&S programs and has been facilitating for over 15 years. He then began working as a Safety Advisor while continuing to expand his repertoire of facilitating safety courses. Trevor co-founded Kaien Safety Group with Kevin Newton in 2014.
Quin Barrie is an OFA 3 and received his National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification (with honours). He is also a First Aid and Green seal certified instructor. With a full spectrum of drug and alcohol testing certifications, Quin reduces the risk of employing individuals who may pose a risk to your overall workplace safety. He has his Provincial Instructor Diploma and OH&S certification.
Monica Contois started as a Medic 11 years ago. Since then she has completed an Electrical Apprenticeship, OHS Certificate and achieved her NCSO Designation. Most of her experience was gained in Industrial Construction and maintenance – Both on the tools and in a Safety position. Her focus is on industrial safety training, her son Carter and enjoying early morning workouts.
Nicole Robinson is the Administrative Assistant and does light book-keeping for Kaien Safety Group. She has had odd jobs everywhere in Prince Rupert, with every job she has excelled, and learned fast. Nicole is a Rupertite, and local aboriginal, with descents from Kitkatla, Port Simpson and Hartley Bay. Her main goals in life are to keep providing for her two sons, and continue to absorb all the good knowledge of the safety industry.
